Party Entertainers

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

It does not matter if you are holding a Party for your child, a 21st Birthday or a wedding or engagement you will probably be wanting to find some sort of entertainment. The number and type of entertainers is as varied as the number of different parties you might hold.

Lets say we are looking for Party Entertainment for a Kids party - we would probably be looking for someone to do a Puppet or magic show and not seeking the services of a DJ or a live band! Of course there are a lot of places we could go looking to find the right sort of entertainment for outr party and the UK Entertainer Directory is a great place to find what you are looking for.

We have reviewd quite a few directories and always like to see a different approach and this directory has done that very well. The site, even though it uses a common directory script, has a unique looking skin that makes the site attractive. Their choice of colours suggests “Fun” - which is great as it matches their niche quite well. Being a paid directory in a niche the quality of the listings are both relevent and of high quality.

In most cases we think of a directory as a resource to find something and often forget that we can make submissions as well. I have a lot of friends who are entertainers who might benefit from a listing in such a directory. There are a heap of categories and I managed to browse and find all sorts of entertainers quite easily. Some example categories in the directory include:

  • Children’s Entertainers
  • Circus and Street Entertainers
  • Magicians
  • Mime Artist

The directory is sure to be able to help whatever event entertainment you need. Even for people who are not sure exactly what you want, there are a wealth of ideas and possibilities in the UK Entertainer Directory.

Anyone with children eventually get asked by their children if they can play with the Computer. Children are fascinated and want to use your computer. What most parents quickly realise is that there is not a lot of suitable software aimed at the younger child. Midoritech has available a small selection of Kids games that are great for younger children. At the moment the selection is small, but over time they will offer more.

Lets take a quick look at the sort of games that are on offer - there is Laydybug which is a maze with over a hundred levels. Your child helps the ladybug find her way home and all the while they are learning and having fun. Another Game is Yoo Doo - which is a “constructor set”. Your child can drag and drop various items to create their own Mister Monster, You Glow or My Garden. The child has fun creating and is learning co-ordination while they creating.

The good news is that there are demo version to download and try of these games before you purchase the full version. Even better, the full versions are quite cheap! The Games are available as PC games and Mac Games - so no matter what sort of computer you have, you can enjoy these games with your kids.

Another thing for the Mac user to check out is the Classic game of mahjong - I don’t know how many hours I have spent playing this game (it is something for the older kids and the young at heart to enjoy).

The website itself if fairly new and quite simple. It has a bit of info on each game, download links for the demo versions, some screenshots and full payment details. You just have to look at the photo on the About page - I wish I lived there!

You sometimes hear of all the weird stuff that goes on in the world, but  for all the things that just make you say “WTF!” you just need to dig a little deeper.  All the WTF stuff can be found in the one place.  Now, we don’t need to mention what the letters stand for now do we - you are smart I am sure you can work it out!

The site, if you have not worked it out, is a News site with a difference - it is all the really weird stuff that you would never beleive that people actually do!  The site itself is blog-styled, which is perfect for news articles that are presented.  As a Blog, it has all the usual things you expect to find, such as archives and categories of previous posts.  You can comment on various posts as well.  The only thing I would have liked to see on this site would have been somewhere to submit or suggest stories.

WTF Stuff grabs various newsfeeds from media sites, provide a snippet of the article and add value or a twist with their own commentary.  They don’t simply grab the syndicated content - they add it it as well.  I like what they are doing - grabbing ony items that make you sit back and say WTF!

When you are bored at work, take a look at the site, tell your work collegues about it and you can all enjoy reading about the weird and not so wonderful.
