1 in 52 million

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Are you one of the approx 52 Million who visit the Orlando Area each and every year?

Well, with that many people visiting the area, there must be something that draws everyone to the area.  Well, there is quite a lot of things, but you would have to agree that with Disney World being only 20 miles from the City of Orlando it just might have a bit of an influence as to why. There is more than Disney world including the Universal Orlando Resort.

With this many visitors to the region you can imagine that there is a plethora of places to stay and you are right! When looking at Orlando Hotels you will want to find one at a good price and close to the things that attracted you to stay in the first place . Lets just take a quick peek at 1 of Orlando FL Hotels - and see what makes it attractive.  Well there is more than just a single thing - especially since they have listed  the distance from the Hotel to several of the major attractions.

The Orlando Vacations Hotels website is all about providing information on some of the Accomodation that can be found.  They have put together some great info about each hotel and the closest attractions to them.  You cannot do a booking online, but on every page in the header there is a toll-free 1-800 number to call to arrange bookings or find out more information.  The design of the site is what I would personally call old school - simple mavigation, good content and no fancy gimmick such as flash to distract you from finding out what you want.  Not evey site has to look like a design team spent months on it to be useful - the only time that is useful is if someone is promoting Art!

When you want to be 1 of the 52 million and visit Disney world, Universal Orland Resort, Seaworld or any of the other Attractions then find a week or 2 and see for yourself why the area attracts so many visitors.

Stepping back in time

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

The most memorable and cheesy line from the 1997 Movie “Titanic” where Kate, arms outstretched, held By Leonardo saying “I’m The King Of the World!” - Well, Who wants to be the king of the world? Yep, Not many - unless you are an evil meglomainiac seeking world domination! But regaridng the other part - standing at the Bow of a great ship with the wind in your hair - more realistic.

At the Turn of the 20th Century the only way to travel from one continent to another was by Ocean liner, something that was surpassed buy the Jet aircraft. When it was an Ocean Journey of several days, the catch phrase was “Getting there is half the fun”.  At least they got that right - and we certainly see that this is still the case, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to get onto a Holiday Cruise ship.  Now, with A cruise ship, getting back is the other half of the fun as well!

Taking a Cruise or even considering one then a cruise leaving from Norfolk puts you in easy reach of a lot of wonderful and exotic holiday destinations such as the Caribbean or Bermuda. Well, they are not “next door” but close as far as ships go.  A modern day cruise ship is a far cry from the passenger liners of yesteryear - you get everything and some these days, from restuarant eating, Island stopovers and dancing that goes all night. We cannot all afford a round the world trip on the QEII but that doesn’t mean that the folks at Cruise Norfolk cannot find something that fits your budget.

CI Travel website is all about taking holidays on a cruise ship and they have a heap of info on various destinations, attractions and much more.

You don’t have to be rich

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Nope, not talking about that Tom Jones Song at all!

I am talking about making your Holiday the best you can on what you have.

In the late 80’s there was this “business Tycoon” from Australia call Christopher Skase who’s empire collapsed around him. He could see it coming, so he made a grab for what he could and headed off to live the rest of his life on the Island of Mallorca off the Spanish Coast in the Mediterranean Sea. In Australia it was all over the news how he was living in a Luxury Villa while all the investors never saw a cent!

Ok, you don’t need to be a failed businessman to want to see this Island - we all got a glimpse of it in the news broadcasts. You don’t need to have millions stashed away either because there are plenty of Cheap Hotels in Mallorca for you to stay at! Now when I take a holiday I am always looking to make my funds go as far as possible and Accommodation is one of the big expenses when travelling. Getting the best deals on your accomodation can mean the difference between a 1 week holiday and maybe a 10 day Holiday, and who wouldn’t want an extra few days on an Island in the Sun.

It doesn’t matter where you are planning to stay or what your budget is by shopping around you can get some great deals - who would have thought that you could find Cheap Mallorca Hotels or even Hotels in Palma rather than paying out heaps and staying at Ibiza.

Cheaperthanhoteles is a website where you can find the very best holiday accomodation at the very best prices. One of the Areas that they specialise in is the Lastminute Accomodation deals. Basically, what this means is that many of the Large hotel chains sell off their un-booked rooms at the last minute at quite cheap prices. Once a night has passed, you cannot go back and sell that un-used room in a Hotel it is too late!. Now it just makes good business sense to get back at least something for a room rather than having it sit idle. Not only does the Hotel fill their room, but you can get some brilliant deals that are almost unheard of!

A visit with…

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

.. your friends and the chance to explore somewhere new is what a holiday is all about.

While you may not have friends all over the world who can take you out and show you what is what if you are heading to Italy, then there is a nice alternative. A Tuscany Holiday that puts you in touch with the Locals and off the beaten track sounds like a great way to spend a few days or weeks. Taking an Italian wine and food tour and really immersing yourself in the country and culture sounds like a great way to spend a holiday to me.

This website has to be one of the most interesting and innovative “travel brochures” I have ever seen. The site is all about how they can put You in control and in touch with the country and culture. They do this in an intersting way - by showing you exactly the sort of activites that That Arianna and her Friends can share with you from a Tuscan Cooking class, food and wine tours to treks and cycle tours. I don’t normally quote from a site I look at but a small quote from their about us page really says it all for me.

If you want to spend some time with us you’d better get to know us first!

The page goes on to introduce you to the Tour guides from there. You get the feeling that you are actually visiting a friend who will show you around rather than booking a holiday. Take a quick peek at the Tuscany Photo Gallery to get a glimpse of what you can expect, and when packing, don’t forget your own Camera!

I always think to myself “one day I’ll get to Europe” and I think that after looking over this website that they really do offer something for me. I like to try and get friends or family to show me the out of the way places and from this glimpse, this is the sort of thing I would love to do.

BC

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

BC - is not some biblical reference but British Columbia. If you are travelleling and Canada is in your sites then you might want to put Kelowna, British Columbia on your short list. Now during your holiday you will be looking for somewhere to stay and you can find and book any Kewlowna Hotel with ease online.

You can do all sorts of searches for accomodation that suits your requirements, and then within each search you can narrow down the choices based on things like rating and price. Once you have made your choice you can get a whole lot more info on the hotel including a map on where it is.

The Kewlowna Hotel website is not only an accomodation portal it also has quite a bit of information on attractions and entertainment. It has a bit of info about several attractions and links to their websites so you can easily plan your holiday. The site is easy to navigate and use. The only thing I would have liked to be able to find would have been a page with a couple od maps on it - so it shows exactly where Kewlowna is. They have an excellent paragraph written about where it is located, but the addition of a map would have rounded it out quite well.

Time to take a break

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

.. from it all and get away for a holiday in the Sun. For anyone in the UK looking to take a holiday in the sun then the Mediterranean has to be on the list. Cypress Holidays have been pretty popular for the last 5000+ years amongst the Romans, Persians and Greeks - so why not see what is on offer yourself!

cypress sunsetWith a stunning sunset over the sea, I say why not add Cypress to your holiday destinations. You can find the best flights, hotels and car hire all in one place. Dial A flight only employs travel agents who have travelled extensively themselves so you can be sure that any advice you get is top-notch.

The Website is laid out in a way that makes it easy to use to start researching your holiday and the phone number for reservations is prominent and easy to find when you are ready to make your booking.
