g2-sites.com is a niche directory that accepts submissions only from websites that use Gallery software.  This directory is a little different than most and it is not just a bunch of links.  They allow you to take a screenshot of your site and include it and a description of your site within their listings.

The directory is all about showing off your website that is powered by a particular software and as an inspiration to other webmasters in how the gallery software can be skinned and integrated into an existing website.

Part of the aims of the site is to also provide information on where you can find resources to integrate Gallery software with a CMS (Content Management System).  The directory contains some great examples of how 2 pieces of software can work together and produce a website that their owners are proud of.

The sites listed in their directory have some great pictures and photos from all over the world.  If you have a site using Gallery you might wish to submit it for inclusion into the Directory.

The Site has a clean, modern look and rather than using a typical directory script this site is implemented using the Drupal CMS.  It is a fine example of how a unique template can make an open source CMS based site not look the same as other sites using the same software to power it.

shrinkpictures Logo

Need to resize a picture or photo? then shrinkpictures can help you.  This website provides some basic image editing tools that will allow you to easily resize your images.

The tools they provide are easy to use and you simply choose your original picture, select the new size and click on resize!  Once you click, your picture is uploaded and the resized image is shown to you on the screen.  All you have to do is to save the new resized picture to your Computer or you can even choose to get the new picture sent to you in an email.

This is not all, you can set the output quality of the new picture.  By selecting a lower quality, you reduce the file size of the new picture.

A new tool that they provide is one to create an Avatar.  You simply upload your photo and select the size, same as before.  When you create an avatar, the image is cropped into a square as well.

The tools they provide are very simple to use for the job they do.  You don’t need any software loaded on your computer meaning that you can resize your pictures from any computer that has an Internet Connection.  You don’t need to learn how to use a complex Image Editing package like photoshop to do the simple task of resizing.

Your original Image can be either a .gif, .png or .jpg file of up to 6Meg in size and the new resized picture will be a .jpg.

The site has a pretty simple, very clean design and it is very easy to use the tools provided.
