Credit Cards

Credit cards can be a great tool for anyone who runs a business by allowing you to easily keep track of all the business expenses in one place. If you are looking for a business credit card but are confused what to look for, Creditorweb has a tool that can help you narrow down what cards fit your criteria called the Best Credit Cards tool. It includes the Advanta Credit Card - which is a Mastercard that caters to small businesses.

You would expect that a website about Credit cards would also offer something more than a comparison of different cards and Credtorweb has a whole lot more. One of the things it offers is a simple Credit card payoff calculator that does some simple calculations on your outstanding balance, interest rate and monthly repayments and it tells you how long it will take and how much a credit card is costing you. There are also a heap of articles on using and choosing a credit card.

One particular item was of interest and that is linked from the main navigation in the header - it is all about Credit card processing. Now most of the time when we think credit card, we think about using it to make a purchase with, but the other side of this is that the company we are making the purchase from has to accept or process the transaction. If you run a small business and want to start looking at accepting credit cards and grow your business then this article is a great introduction to the other side of the card.

Properties Online

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Over the last few years the first place that most people tend to start their search for real estate services tends to be online. Gone are the days where you would grab the newspaper early on Saturday morning and go thru all the listings 1 by 1 to find what you want. Yes, you still can, but by utilising the power of the Internet and searching Real Estate Databases you can save quite a lot of time in getting started.

Ok, I am guessing that you already knew all of this! but we are going to dig a bit deeper and examine a Real estate portal site in a little more detail. We are going to take a look at the Beckenbridge Colorado Real Estate site and see what it offers us. So far we know we are looking at a real estate site, but not all such sites are created equal - there are some sites that are just big databases that you can search and all they offer is various properties for sale and then there are sites that are very targetted and only deal with properties in a specific location - such as Summit County Colorado real estate.

Now a niche website can offer a whole lot more than a large database covering almost everything. The advantages of such a site that focusses on a specific area is that they can not only provide information for buyers, sellers, property management or even people looking to rent, but they can also provide general information on the area. I have never personally been to The Area of Summit County, but by looking over the site, I can not only find details on properties but also read about the general area. Lets face it, sometimes we get a job offer that means we need to up and move to another part of the country - and usually we have very little knowledge of the area we may have to move to. Now, if I had to move due to my work, I would seek out a niche real estate agent - one that provides a lot of info about the area I was thinking of moving to.

Ok, lets just say we were moving and wanted to find out about Beckenbridge homes for sale we could have started with a big database and looked at just a house or could have found a real estate site that can give us a whole lot more. I’ll leave it up to you to decide, but me, I’ll always try to find a site that gives me the specific info I’m looking for.

Kids Games

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

Anyone with children eventually get asked by their children if they can play with the Computer. Children are fascinated and want to use your computer. What most parents quickly realise is that there is not a lot of suitable software aimed at the younger child. Midoritech has available a small selection of Kids games that are great for younger children. At the moment the selection is small, but over time they will offer more.

Lets take a quick look at the sort of games that are on offer - there is Laydybug which is a maze with over a hundred levels. Your child helps the ladybug find her way home and all the while they are learning and having fun. Another Game is Yoo Doo - which is a “constructor set”. Your child can drag and drop various items to create their own Mister Monster, You Glow or My Garden. The child has fun creating and is learning co-ordination while they creating.

The good news is that there are demo version to download and try of these games before you purchase the full version. Even better, the full versions are quite cheap! The Games are available as PC games and Mac Games - so no matter what sort of computer you have, you can enjoy these games with your kids.

Another thing for the Mac user to check out is the Classic game of mahjong - I don’t know how many hours I have spent playing this game (it is something for the older kids and the young at heart to enjoy).

The website itself if fairly new and quite simple. It has a bit of info on each game, download links for the demo versions, some screenshots and full payment details. You just have to look at the photo on the About page - I wish I lived there!

Irvine Housing

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

My initial reaction when asked to review the Irvine Housing Blog was pretty negative - I know nothing about Irvine and had to go and search where it is! I took a look at the about page, still no clues. I started reading a few posts and Finally worked out that it is in The Orange County in California. By the time I had discovered the general location, I had skimmed thru quite a few of the posts.

My thoughs on the Irvine Housing Blog had changed somewhat - which actually surprised me. I personally have absolutely no interest in the location or really what is going on it. BUT, this is where things get much more interesting. The blog is written by 3 people who have very different interests in the particular market from someone who has recently sold a house and is looking to purchase another one and a Developer.

What really intruiged me about the blog is the depth of information and the research that has gone into the info presented. It goes into recent sales, sales of newly developed properties and examines them in-depth. They put together quite a lot of info on the reality of the real estate market in their area and give some insight into the prices, real price and what people are willing to pay/lose on an investment property.

Like I said at the outset, I have no interest in the actual market of Irvine properties, but the info is incredibly interesting to anyone who has or is considering investing in property anywhere. I would have to say that if you consider the info in the blog and see how it applies to your real estate market, you will gain a valuable insight to how it all works. The Irvine housing blog is definatley one of the most interesting niche blogs we have had the pleasere to review and anyone who is considering starting a blog could learn a lot from reading this blog from end to end.

A blog is a blog is a blog when it comes to functionality - content, date based archives and category based archives are all there. They chose a 3-column layout for their front page and a 2-column layout for other pages. I think that their site would benefit from a little more general info on where Irvine actually is, and maybe a nice graphic header would help the visual appeal. As already noted, the content is top-notch.

Lorien’s Blog

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

When asked to take a look at this blog the first thing I did was to find and read the about page.  It gives just a little bit of a glimpse as to what you might find among the posts in the blog.  Well, I’ll give you a quick glimpse - it is a personal blog of someone who spends a lot of time online running several business websites including E-commerce and content sites.  Anyone who spends a lot of time online will usually turn up all sorts of stuff, and by blogging about some of it, you can add your own spin or commentary.  This is exactly what we are seeing here.

This blog has a very diverse range of topics - from comments about running online web businesses and dealing with wholesale suppliers, political comments, world events and even just light-hearted entertainment.   That was just the current first page of the blog! A look at the Topics this blog covers and these posts pretty well cover it!  The blog is about 6 months old at the time of the review.

Now, a personal blog has absolutely no need to be accurate on anything - it is personal after all!  If you read a few of the posts on this blog you will soon see that the Author is opinionated!  I am guessing that a lot of their personality is coming out in their posts for sure.  If you like to read about “real Poeple” rahter than watching all the fake ones on the telly then this blog is a pretty good starting place.
