Party Entertainers

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

It does not matter if you are holding a Party for your child, a 21st Birthday or a wedding or engagement you will probably be wanting to find some sort of entertainment. The number and type of entertainers is as varied as the number of different parties you might hold.

Lets say we are looking for Party Entertainment for a Kids party - we would probably be looking for someone to do a Puppet or magic show and not seeking the services of a DJ or a live band! Of course there are a lot of places we could go looking to find the right sort of entertainment for outr party and the UK Entertainer Directory is a great place to find what you are looking for.

We have reviewd quite a few directories and always like to see a different approach and this directory has done that very well. The site, even though it uses a common directory script, has a unique looking skin that makes the site attractive. Their choice of colours suggests “Fun” - which is great as it matches their niche quite well. Being a paid directory in a niche the quality of the listings are both relevent and of high quality.

In most cases we think of a directory as a resource to find something and often forget that we can make submissions as well. I have a lot of friends who are entertainers who might benefit from a listing in such a directory. There are a heap of categories and I managed to browse and find all sorts of entertainers quite easily. Some example categories in the directory include:

  • Children’s Entertainers
  • Circus and Street Entertainers
  • Magicians
  • Mime Artist

The directory is sure to be able to help whatever event entertainment you need. Even for people who are not sure exactly what you want, there are a wealth of ideas and possibilities in the UK Entertainer Directory.

Get paid to post the news

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Thats right Bloggers - there is a new way to get your blogs earning for you.

All Bloggers will probably be interested in a new service that not only provides you content for your blog but also PAYS YOU to post it The Content all comes from the News Room which is a consolidation of several news resources from around the Globe.

What you are doing is being a publisher for news articles - and the best part is that yopu get paid on a CPM basis. This means you get Content for your blog and every time someone views your blog you Earn! Check out The Newsroom Payment chart to find out more

Ok, you want to know what it looks like - well I can show you! I went to The News Room, signed up for an account and then browsed the news categories. I found a story that I wanted to add to my site and simply follwed the simple instructions to get the code and included it in my post.

It took only a few seconds to sign up, then I browsed the current news stories and found something that interested me. If you are short of an Idea, or just wnat to include a news story with a blog post nothing could be easier! With everyone having an opinion, embedding a news story in your blog is great - because it will then allow you to put your own editorial comment in your post.

The best part is that you can find plenty of up to date news stories in the one place and you get content for your site that pays! Even better, if someone grabs the content from your site rather than visitng the newsroom you also get paid. When I have a day that I need to find some content for my blog, I know where I’ll go looking for it!

Webmaster Blog

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

I tend to read quite a few websites and blogs and can usually spot something that is good (and bad) within a short amount of time. I took a look over the Technology Reports Webmaster Blog and added the feeds to my feed list.

The content of the site is of personal interest - a webmaster who makes occasional posts about various web related activities that earn a bit of money. The only dissapointing thing is that the posts are fairly infrequent. The quality of the posts seem pretty good and seem to offer some sound advice on how you might be able earn from your website or blog.

There are a couple of posts that I want to highlight - the first one is all about making your blog unique - It talks about doing a few small things to the Blog template so that it has a look all of it’s own. They used their own site as an example on how they acheived a unique look. I guess I should take heed on that one myself and see if I can’t do something better with this site :) They have another article in 2 parts that I really like as well - It is all about blogging for Profit. The articles provide valuable info on how almost anyone can get started blogging and earning a bit from it.

Cashing out

Monday, June 4th, 2007

I have struggeld a long time to understand the term Annuity, that was until I read about it on this website. After reading the explanation I finally understood in far more detail what it is all about.

The Definition of Annuity is

    1. The annual payment of an allowance or income.
    2. The right to receive this payment or the obligation to make this payment.
  1. A contract or agreement by which one receives fixed payments on an investment for a lifetime or for a specified number of years.

Now we know the definition of an annuity - that it is a payment, the next thing to understand are the different types of annuities. If we consider that if you Have a huge lottery win and your prize is offered as fixed payments over a fixed number of years then this is 1 type of annuity.

The most common type would be an insurance payout. Your life insurance Policy is probably the one that most people are familiar with. Either on your death or on the policy maturity, you (or your estate) are paid an amount of money at fixed periods. There are substantial advantages to using such a policy as a means of retirement savings.

The only problem with getting paid as an annuity is that you cannot get a lump sum for larger purchases such as buying a house. There are ways where you can get access to your annuity all at once and that is to sell the payments to someone else in exchange for a lump sum right now, sort of like a loan where you get the funds now, and the annuity payments “repay” the loan. Finding the right company can be tricky, and the StructuredSettlement-quotes website can provide you with a quote and your options to suit your requirements.

Caution Genius inside

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

Everyone who has a child is convinced that their child is so much smarter thana all other children. I bet you even think that your own child or children are so much smarter than all othe other children. I bet if you ask every mother and father of the kids at the playgroup that they will say the same thing - My child is a genius.

The truth of the matter is that there are very few children who are truly gifted. That doesn’t mean that you don’t want to give your kids the very best possible start in life. One of the choices that may help you child is your choice of Toys. By picking the best Educational toys your child will have the best chance of developing and being above average. Now being above average is a pretty darn good start if you ask me.

Mastermindtoys is an online Toy store that has everthing that I have come to expect from any online store. The important things are there - such as a physical address and Telephone Numbers for contact. When I checked out the Store locations page I am presented with a regional map and a photo of each of their stores. Next to each of their stores they have a location map, address and opening hours. From the about page I found that Mastermindtoys have been operationg stores for 22 years and have had an online store for 9 years.

Now, the Online store makes it much easier to shop. Come on - how many times have you taken your child into a Toy store - you will know exactly what I mean. Your search for Educational Toys for children of all ages is made easy by the layout - You can shop by age, category and even Brand. We all have children in our lives so take a look, buy their educational toys online and even include a special message and gift wrapping.

Don’t just show it - Create IT

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

How many times have you wandered around a tradeshow and you wander past the booths with great displays and you can hardly get near them for the crowds. On the other hand, there are the boots that are basically somone sitting down at a trestle table watching a video on their laptop and a handful of brochures on the table. These ones are easy to get near because everyone is just walking past and not paying any attention no matter how goood the product or service on offer is.

Trade Shows are all about the visual and catching the attention of the show visitors who are a captive audience. Your Trade Show display should grab the attention and pull the Crowds to your booth. You already spent a small fortune securing your booth, but without going to the trouble of getting the best Display you may as well have stayed at home!

I am amazed when I wander around various trade shows at how good and how bad some of the booths are. Now, the one’s I bother to stop at have somehow managed to capture my attention and stand out from the rest. The last show I went to was a motor show and there were some great cars, but the actual booths and info was pretty pathetic at most of them. Yes, a show where the average price of the Items on display is over $30K and most didn’t even have a Rack of brochures.

Once you secure your own booth at a trade show you need to set it up to make the most of your potential customers walking past. Make your Trade show displays stand out with the help of Create IT Displays. Start with a Large print for a backdrop then a Literature stand and a Table top display. Their website shows you everything you need to make a spalsh at your next trade show with images and information. Simply fill in the contact form, send an email or pick up the phone and call.

Getting Hot and Steamy

Friday, June 1st, 2007

After a workout at the Gym or even at the end of a long week at work there is not many better ways to unwind than by slipping into your own Sauna.

A sauna is nothing more than an area (in most cases a room) with high heat and low humidity. The high heat causes you to sweat, and the low humidity means that your sweat will rapidly evaporate. It is this exchange of liquid (sweat) out of your skin that gives a wonderful cleansing feeling. Now, most people think of taking a sauna at the gym after a workout and don’t really think about building their own. I have only ever had a sauna after a gym workout followed by a quick dip in a cold pool! The Sauna does leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Your own Sauna is easier than you think and it doesn’t need to be as large as the ones at a gym. You can purchase a Sauna Kit and build your own or get a pre-fab Sauna and simply assemble. I thought that A sauna would be something that is expensive to run but soon found out that this is not really the case at all. The Saunafin website is not only about selling Sauna kits but provides a heap of general info. The most useful info is that it shows just how cheap it is to run your own sauna. Now, the reason it is cheap is that typically you only need to turn it on for a few hours a week, unlike a Gym that have their sauna going all the time.

The Saunafin website is certainly not the prettiest site to look at, but it is functional. Everything you want can be easily found, from the Contact page to the online showroom and galleries. The Contact info provided is exactly what you want - A mail address, e-mail form and Telephone numbers. The site has a good balance between general information such as Sauna Health benefits and their products that they offer.
